How We Work

A clear, transparent and collaborative process — designed to deliver results you can rely on.

Every engagement with LianGroup begins with listening. We do not apply off-the-shelf solutions to complex, nuanced situations — we invest time in understanding before acting. Here is how that translates into practice.

Five Stages of Engagement

01

Initial Consultation

We begin with a no-obligation conversation — in person, by video or by telephone — to understand your situation, goals and timeline. There are no standard questionnaires here: we listen, ask the right questions, and make sure we genuinely understand your context before offering any direction.

This stage is free of charge. We believe that good advice begins with real understanding, and we are not prepared to offer either until we have it.

02

Needs Assessment & Scoping

Following the initial consultation, we conduct a thorough assessment — reviewing market conditions, relevant relationships, cultural factors and practical constraints. We then present a clear scope of work: what we will do, how long it will take, what it will cost, and what you can expect to achieve.

Our proposals are detailed and honest. If we think a goal is unrealistic, we will tell you — and explain why.

03

Strategy Development

With scope agreed, we develop a tailored strategy. Depending on the engagement, this might mean a China market-entry roadmap, an art acquisition plan, a cultural training curriculum or a cross-border negotiation approach. The strategy is collaborative — we draft, you review, we refine.

We draw on our internal expertise as well as our network of trusted partners: legal advisors, cultural specialists, market analysts and on-the-ground contacts across China and internationally.

04

Implementation & Delivery

We work alongside you through implementation — managing key relationships, providing cultural interpretation, facilitating negotiations and ensuring that plans translate into tangible outcomes. You have a dedicated LianGroup contact throughout, with regular progress updates and clear communication at every stage.

Communication is a priority. We provide updates in the format and frequency that suits you, and remain accessible when circumstances change or decisions need to be made quickly. When challenges arise — as they sometimes do in complex cross-cultural work — we address them directly and keep you fully informed.

05

Review & Ongoing Support

We do not disappear when the initial work is done. After delivery, we conduct a structured review to measure outcomes against objectives, identify what worked and what could be improved, and discuss whether ongoing support or follow-on work would be of value. Many of our clients become long-term partners — which we consider the highest measure of our success.

Ongoing support can take many forms: a retained advisory relationship, occasional project work, introductions to new partners, or simply being on hand when questions arise. We are flexible and responsive to what each client actually needs — not locked into a fixed service model. The relationship matters to us long after the initial engagement concludes.

FAQs

How long does a typical engagement take?
It varies considerably by service type. An art acquisition can be completed in a matter of weeks; a China market-entry programme might span six to twelve months. We will always give you a realistic timeline in our scope proposal.
Do you work with small businesses or only large enterprises?
We work with organisations of all sizes — from individual entrepreneurs and SMEs to established multinationals. What matters is the seriousness of your intent, not the size of your balance sheet.
Can I work with LianGroup remotely?
Yes. While we do value in-person meetings — especially for building the trust that underlies our work — the vast majority of our client interactions take place remotely via video call. We work with clients on every continent.
How are your fees structured?
Our fees depend on the scope and nature of the engagement. We offer both project-based and retainer arrangements. For art brokerage, we work on a standard commission basis that we disclose clearly before any transaction. We will always present fees transparently in our proposal, with no hidden charges.
What languages do you work in?
Our team works fluently in English and Mandarin Chinese.
